Extended Glock 19 Mag - Tyrann Designs Glock 19 & 23 Magazine Extension: +5 Rounds for 20 + 1 Round Total 9mm Parabellum Firepower!

For the past year I have been using Tyrant Designs (TD) Glock 19 & 23 Magazine Extension (+5 rounds) for my Glock 19. This time, it is still loaded (except for the fact that they are used in general. ), and has become my first go-to accessory for EDC (Every Day Carry). Tyrant Designs magazine extensions are made from machined aluminum, and come in a variety of colors. It also has an extra strong magazine well. In the case of the G19 in 9mm with a +5 mag extension, that equates to 20 rounds in a standard magazine. There are two things that distinguish the Tyrant Designs Mag Extension: First, the mechanical function. Instead of being very smooth all the way through, the mag extension is...I call it "bevelled"...on the sides, giving them a cool look, and giving them good condition. Second and more important is the way to lock the extension on the magazine. Instead of using a set screw that requires a tool to tighten it, or a washer to hold it in place, expansion plates use a tyrant a spring and bolts to attach the base plate to the magazine. After sliding on the magazine, the plunger pops up and locks in place. The only tool needed to remove it is a flat object, such as a flathead screwdriver or the side of a knife that goes down to remove the skin. The Tyrant Designs G19 Magazine Extension packs up to 20rd capacity into a standard G19 magazine. The magazine extension is securely locked in place by a spring and bolt, so there is no sign of concern when it comes loose. So, why install an extension on a G19 drill hole? Need extra laps? Why not just carry a G17 magazine? Of course you can, but that only gives you extra-two on a standard 15-round magazine. A G19 magazine fitted with the Tyrant Designs Mag Extension can hold 20 + 1 rounds. When sitting in a pocket and worn on the body, it is only slightly longer than a G17 (Glock 17) mag, so why not for five more rounds? (20th in the mag, as opposed to 17th). For EDC, I rarely carry spare mags with me. But if I do, it's easier to carry one 20-rounder (G19 mag and extension), on two spare mags. If I have to use my gun, I know my reloads offer many extra rounds. In a pocket, the G19 15rd Mag with Tyrant Designs Magazine Extension is close to the same profile as a G17 magazine, but allows for three additional rounds on the G17 mag, for a total of 20 rounds. As for quality and reliability, I removed the entire mag extension and loaded a part down the line to see if I could get it out. It stops without any problems. And, as mentioned before, I kept it for a few months at a time to see if any spring would cause problems. And this year it's going really well. Minimalist EDC: G19 with a spare magazine. Considering it currently holds 20rds, it's a fair number of other rounds if one needs it. Here at DR, I've previously reviewed several Tyrant Designs products (see "Related Articles" below): their Glock Extended Magazine Release, G43 Magazine Extension, and their Halo AR-15 Hand Stop. I still use the Halo hand stop on my main competition pistol, and I like their Glock Extended Mag Release so much that I bought two of the ones we reviewed so I can outfit the rest of my Glocks with them. Extended Glock 19 Magazine - I still remember the first GLOCK handgun I saw. It was in 1987 or 1988 at Long's Drug Store in Colorado Springs. I went to the drug store to buy a Colt 1911 and saw a GLOCK 17, the only model made at the time. I fell in love with it at the same time and walked out of the drug store with it instead of a Colt 1911. I remember how great the GLOCK 17 felt in my hand, and then I had two magazines of 17 rounds with the rifle... well, very few gave you a second magazine with a pistol. I also remember wondering about the material the frame was made of, and the clerk behind the counter could only tell me it was some kind of "plastic". I bought it anyway.

Since I bought the GLOCK 17, I've probably had every model except the optional GLOCK 18, and that's because the 18 is only for law enforcement and military sales. However, I did get a chance to shoot the GLOCK 18 and it was a blast – literally! I worked with the late Colonel Rex Applegate on the first video produced by Paladin Press, and we had a GLOCK 23 prototype. Most of the time it did, it was chambered in an unmodified GLOCK 19 and the ammunition was not always fed properly.

Today's featured gun is the GLOCK 19 Gen 4 9mm pistol and is probably the best of the generation so far. It has 4 back straps, two of which make the handle slightly thicker or bulkier, and two of which extend slightly. Some people wearing gloves experience lag when the slide hits their gloved hand, so you won't have that problem with the extended backstrap. (I myself have never had a problem wearing gloves and shooting a Glock.)

The GLOCK 19, Gen 4 weighs 23.65 ounces with a 4.02-inch barrel and a trigger pull of about 5.5 pounds. Each magazine (you get three) holds 15 9mm rounds. The barrel is hex because it's not a gun.

The trigger is what GLOCK calls a safety trigger - there's a little lever in the center of the trigger and you can't fire the gun unless your finger is on the trigger. There are also some internal security measures, but none that you should do anything with. The sights have a white dot front polymer and the rear is also polymer, only it is U-shaped and much faster to retrieve. These scopes are generally not suitable for target shooting, but most people who buy a GLOCK do so for self-defense or service purposes, not for target practice. Sights are easily interchangeable if you want a different sight on your guns. However, you need a GLOCK front sight device to replace the front sight.

I've been told that the GLOCK 19 is the most popular model in the GLOCK line, and I see no reason why. My oldest daughter and my wife also have a Glock 19; They have a concealed weapons license. The polymer frame has grooves on the front strap, and there are small "grooves" on the sides and back straps, which ensure a reliable grip of the weapon in all weather conditions.

The Gen 4 Model 19's recoil spring is slightly stronger than previous generations. And you can safely shoot +P and +P + 9mm 19 without any problem. Skis have a tenifer coating that resists rust; I was told that the coating is actually harder than diamond. And even if the black is gone, the coating is still there and the glass won't rust. And as mentioned, the frame is polymer.

All GLOCKs are easy to disassemble for cleaning and maintenance. Just remove the magazine, check the chamber to make sure there are no bullets in the barrel, point the gun in a safe direction and pull the trigger. Once this is done, pull the slide back about 1/4 inch and push down on the removal lever and the slide will slide out. Then you can remove the recoil spring and cylinder and that's it. Place the cylinder back on the slide, then slide it onto the return spring and back into the frame, it's that easy!

All GLOCKs come with a magazine loader and loading their magazines is difficult. I don't have a problem, but many people do. Use a magazine loader to load your magazines and let it sit for a week or two and it will be much easier to load the magazines next time as the spring has taken its time.

GLOCK handguns do not require much lubrication. However, I keep my Model 19 lubricated with Italian Gun Grease http://www.italiangungrease.com/ and it is the best gun grease I have ever used. I also like Blackhawk products http://www.blackhawk.com/ SERPA hip holster for concealed carry, and their tactical thigh holster is also a great holster, low and not bulky.

During my testing of the GLOCK 19, Gen 4, I fired several rounds from Black Hills Ammunition and Buffalo Bore ammo, including standard velocity, +P and even +P+ loads, and I had no problems with the 19.

From Blackhills I had their 100g fine ammo which is mainly used in indoor rifles. When the bullet hits the steel recoil block, it is almost completely destroyed. I also had a Black Hills 115 GR FMJ round. I'm looking forward to some more Black Hills 115gr +P Barnes all copper TAC-XP hollow point loads; They were out when I asked them. I'm out and about cross country roads (or just plains) all the time, and when I carry a 9mm, I load it with a Buffalo Bore 124gr Penetrator FMJ FN +P+ if I'm in black bear country. It would penetrate deep enough to prevent a bear from eating me. On the roads, I have a few hollow point loads to choose from, but I'm still spoiled for choice with the 115g Barnes Copper hollow point TAC XP + P loads from Black Hills or Buffalo Bore; Barnes pills penetrate deep, expand and stay together.
